CLEPS are multiple-choice exams which can get you easy college credits and potentially knock out all of your non-core electives. Not all schools accept all CLEPs and some require higher than the passing 50 to count as credit, so look at your prospective schools’ CLEP policy to know what you need (though CollegeBoard has a tool to see what schools accept what grades, these often don’t have all the information so look at the college’s site). CollegeBoard provides free vouchers for each exam, and a free PDF exam guide.
DoD Skillbridge is a program that allows DoD members to get civilian experience in the DOI for up to the last 6 months in the military. Basically, you go work for them and get OJT while still holding a billet and being paid by the military. Obviously, this requires CoC approval and maybe a hard sell.

One of the best link sites around. One Redditor commented that he wished he knew about this site 5 years ago. Check it out, absolutely great collection of important links.

Great IT site to check out when you hit a wall. According to the site, “CAC installation assistance has been ongoing since in November 2007 because the need for this information should be available to everyone. Personal satisfaction is helping people when most “help desks” can’t or refuse to. “

“Before making a decision about joining the United States Navy, there are some basic things you should know. First, people from all walks of life enter the armed forces and do very well, and second, there is not a single “type” of individual who excels over another.” (NavyCS.com, 2021)

Incredible collection of resources. Highly reccomended on Reddit. More about the site can be found by accessing the link and going to the About section.
Navy COOL allows you to get civilian credentials equivalent to your Navy certifications. You can search by your rate to see what may be available to you.
You can get the most up to date information on these from your CoC and you have to go through them anyway, so I’m just including them here so you remember they exist.
Eligibility requirements change with the weather, find info at the link and discuss with your CoC
O2O is a program that provides free training and certifications for a lot of different Project Management, HR, and IT certs. While it offers a lot of choices, they only pay for one cert per person, however you and your spouse can each use it. If you’re active duty then doing it in your last 6 months will require CO approval and ~3 days of all day in-person virtual meetings/classes (5 if you’re doing PMP). The most valuable thing you can use this for is a PMP, or Project Management Professional Certification. The average PMP holder makes over $100K per year, and outside O2O the cost of a course and exam can go into the thousands. It requires you to have 5 years of experience you can describe as project management (all backdated and described very briefly), or 3 years experience and a 4-year degree or equivalent to qualify for the exam. If you’re unsure if you can make your experience fit their definition, the people of Navy Nuke Job Finder (if you’re a Nuke) or the subreddit r/PMP can be of help.

Salesforce is a program used by most big companies (including over 90% of Fortune 500 companies) to manage a company, customer and employee information. Being certified in Salesforce can be very helpful for getting jobs in those companies and setting yourself apart. The exam is difficult, anyone I’ve known that tried it after only taking the course without a lot of self-study failed their first attempt.
-Active Duty -Reserves -Veterans -Current military spouses
USMAP allows you to log time spent working towards equivalent civilian apprenticeships and certifications. They do not backdate, so if you have any interest in doing this, sign up ASAP.
VR&E can help with college and career placement if you have a service-connected disability rating. Using this early in your schooling can give you the freedom to use your (much larger) G.I. Bill benefits later if you plan to go to an expensive graduate school. This is also where I’ll say: make sure everything medically affecting you is documented in your medical record, you would be surprised by how many minor things that you’re just living with are worth at least a 10% rating.
-Veterans with 10%+ VA Disability rating with a discharge that was not dishonorable -Active duty with a pre-discharge 20%+ disability rating soon to leave the military
A pilot program providing IT and computer technology training and certifications. Funding is on an as-available basis for this program but if you can get in it provides a housing allowance equivalent to E-5 BAH for in-person or half of that for remote learning.
-Active Duty with <180 days remaining -Veteran eligible for at least 1 day of GI Bill benefits (This does not use your benefits)
